After spending the day in Ogden at Clinton Anderson's horse clinic (which was fantastic) it was time to trim Stella the Fresian. It was great being able to better comprehend the horses brain after hearing a couple hours this morning of Anderson's philosophy.
Stella is a gem, but there were times when it was helpful to engage her "thinking brain" by getting those feet to move "forward, backward, left and right" - granted Stella's owner has established solid ground work & fundamentals with her.
I found incredible cooperation with Stella after engaging her to switch from being reactive to focused & mindful and mind she did! Cutting my normal trim times in half. I was able to do the last two hooves in the same time it takes me to do one. Here's to another week of horsemanship, or at least my attempt thereof
